Tip 1 – Don't go on Sunday!
Sunday is the busiest day of the week. On Sundays all tour operators sail to Klein Curacao plus all pleasure boats on the island. What is the best day? Miss Ann does not sail on Mondays and that quickly means a lot of tourists. As far as we are concerned, Monday is the best day!
Tip 2 – Avoid getting seasick
If you go sailing, there is a chance that you will get seasick. But, you can do something about it. Drink a lot of mineral water, avoid carbonated drinks, caffeinated drinks and nicotine. Eat well beforehand and take energy-rich food. Make sure you are well rested. And, if you know you suffer from it: take a pill against seasickness beforehand. Oh yes, if you go with a big boat. Don't sit at the top! You experience less movement downstairs.
Tip 3 – Take a waterproof bag with you
Bring something waterproof if you take valuable electronics with you. At each tour operator, people and/or belongings are brought to shore with a small rubber speed boat, a so-called Dingi. Everything almost always goes well, but it will only happen that you drop your brand new iPhone while getting in or out.
Tip 4 – Go explore the island!
Do not stay alone on the beach or in the water. Go explore Klein Curacao! There is an old abandoned lighthouse on the island that you can climb. It is about a 20-minute walk from the beach. After your visit to the lighthouse, walk to the two Klein Curacao shipwrecksReally worth taking a 'round'.
Tip 5 – Perhaps the most important tip. Don't book at the last minute!
The day trips to Klein Curacao are immensely popular and it is not wise to only book when you are on Curacao. The chance that the Klein Curacao boat trips will be sold out is 99% and it is extremely disappointing if you find out too late that you cannot go. And why should you wait to make a reservation? Klein-curacao.nl works closely with Caribbean Tours, the largest provider of Klein Curacao Trips. When booking, you only make a small deposit and your place is guaranteed. Caribbean Tours is a Dutch company, affiliated with Thuiswinkel Waarborg and also offers you the lowest price guarantee. Avoid disappointment and reserve your place in advance so that you are assured of a place.
And of course don't forget the obvious Klein Curacao tips such as regularly apply sunscreen (preferably factor 50), drink plenty of water, be careful with alcohol and take a hat with you.
